Inspired by Ayurveda

Welcome to the world of Phos Studio, our brand is born from a deep passion to combine the best of both worlds - the wisdom of Ayurvedic botanicals and practices, and the advancements of Western skin science.

As someone of South Asian heritage (Sri Lanka) raised in Australia, I always longed for a brand that could bridge the gap between my cultural roots and the skincare I grew up with. And so, Phos Studio came to life.

At Phos Studio, we draw inspiration from the rich traditions of Ayurveda, while also incorporating the latest scientific research and practices to ensure their effectiveness and safety.

We are amazed to see how the wisdom found in ancient Ayurvedic texts on beauty and wellness is being validated by the advancements of Western science ~ It’s a beautiful harmony of tradition and innovation.

We invite you to embark on a journey of self-care to enhance your natural beauty and wellness.

WHAT IS AYURVEDA?

If you’ve ever done breath work in a yoga class, meditated, used a hair oil, brushed your teeth with activated charcoal toothpaste, or slathered on a skincare product with turmeric, then you’ve experienced Ayurvedic Medicine (Ayurveda for short).

Rooted in Hinduism, the philosophy of Ayurvedic medicine contends that the body, mind and soul are connected to the outer world. When the relationship among these elements of one's personality is out of balance, health problems arise.

Ayurveda is a medical system that uses diet, herbal remedies, meditation, exercise, physical therapy, and breathing to bring balance to the body, mind, and spirit.

Ayurveda emphasizes herbs and plant-based ingredients and uses them in a 360-degree approach to nourish the skin and hair, inside and out. For example, when someone sees an Ayurvedic doctor about acne or eczema, they won’t just have their skin examined; they’ll also be asked about diet, menstrual cycle, and state of mind.

If Ayurveda had a mantra, it would be “Everything is connected.”

Lastly, Ayurveda beauty is all about “rituals”, which means simply to embrace and indulge in the process of the act of applying your skincare. Rather than just patting on an oil, take the time to massage it in and even meditate or repeat a mantra as you do so. The ritualistic aspect forces you to get in touch with yourself and honour yourself with self love and respect.
